Lombok is an island in West Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Barat or NTB) province, Indonesia. It forms part of the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands, with the Lombok Strait separating it from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait between it and Sumbawa to the east. It is roughly circular, with a "tail" (Sekotong Peninsula) to the southwest, about 70 km across and a total area of about 4,725 km² (1,825 sq mi). The provincial capital and largest city on the island is Mataram. It is somewhat similar in size and density with neighboring Bali and shares some cultural heritage, but is administratively part of NTB along with sparsely populated Sumbawa. It is surrounded by a number of smaller islands locally called Gili.

Joger is a shop on Jl. Raya Tuban, that is popular with Indonesian
tourists.. Joger is a specialty t-shirt shop, famous for its slogans. Outside the shop, is a big sign saying ‘Pabrik kata-kata‘ (we have a factory of words). Inside Joger many domestic tourists were funneled through the shop in prescribed direction. Joger sells Balinese handicrafts, t-shirts, bags, hats and other small gifts.

Kuta Art Market is a traditional market where you can get local-crafted souvenirs and goods. The prices vary, depending on your bargaining skills. Haggling is expected and indeed encouraged as part of the fun of shopping, but do so politely and with a smile. It is often helpful to decide upon the most you want to pay for an item before you start bargaining.

Art has always been an integral part of Balinese life and a trip to Ubud is an excellent way to gain an understanding of the art and culture of Bali. You will have the opportunity of browsing through the galleries of prominent Balinese and European artists where you will experience the renaissance in traditional Balinese art combined with European techniques. You can watch gold and silver craftsmen at work in the village of Celuk, visit the woodcarving galleries in Mas.
